After leaving MHSG in 1976, I studied English at Birmingham University and then completed a research degree on Henry James at Manchester University. I was subsequently lured to Melbourne by an Australian who promised pavlovas and endless sunny days, and claimed huntsman spiders weren’t that big. (They are.) Reader, I married him, and had two sons. I taught for many years, retiring as Head of English. In the latter part of my teaching career, I became heavily involved in local theatre. I’m now a writer, with two novels and numerous short stories and plays to my name. My work includes quirky comedies, darker psychological dramas and plays about Australian aviation history.
